The Maluku Islands
South and east of the lands of the Lao lie the Malaku Islands. More than an archipelago, these hundreds (possibly thousands) of islands range in size from enormous to mostly-submerged atolls. They are known as a source of exotic foods, animals, spices and people. The various islands are inhabited by a variety of cultures, who might hold little in common except a love of seafaring. Most inhabitants are exotic looking ren, a significant number of oni-blooded, and the ancestors of the samebito. There are of course stories of far stranger inhabitants, and every sailor of this island chain has tales to tell.
